About me40-something bibliophiles back in Seattle, returned from exile in eastern Washington state and so happy to be back. Even with all the rain! She cooks, plays horn, and is into tech stuff; he's into music, film, and literature but also does web programming. Both read excessively.

"If it hadn't been for books we would have been entirely at the mercy of sex" - Anatole Broyard

Did you read the Soros book. What did you think of it
Hi!

I’m sending this note because you are a member of the Seattleites group.

A few of us are starting a book club and I hope that you will consider joining us.

Our first book is In the Woods by Tana French. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park at 7pm.

See our thread called Book Clubs? on the Seattleites group or you can reply to me if you want more info.

Thanks - Carol
I discovered you while viewing the books that we share. It amazes me how many people like Nicholson Baker. The Anatole Broyard quote in your "About me" field is funny. Cheers. :-)
No, I don't have it yet, but he's a friend of mine.
You got Nico V.'s book?!
It appears we share 107 books, thought I'd take a peak and say hi. We made it to Whidbey Island last fall and wandered in Seattle for a bit. You guys have some great bookshops.
I found you because you also have a copy of "Unmarried to Each Other" by my friends Dorian and Marshall, and I can't help but noticed we have a lot of what I consider some of my most cool books in common.
Ian MacDonald's Revolution in the Head is a great book on The Beatles recordings. I am reading the Spitz biography now and it seems pretty good. Happy holidays!
hi ho from columbia city! Are you here or in Richland?

There is a bookstore in columbia city.

But, my favs: epilogue in ballard (used and I like their book buying system), uw univesity bookstore, elliot bay, third place books in bothell, bailey coy on capitol hill
We have in common Calvino, Gorey, Anthony Powell, Broyard, Updike among 36 works. I browsed randomly from fun stats and came across your (combined ) quite tasteful collection! I immediately ordered the interview with Gould.
I see that Pauline Kael's collections (from the New Yorker) are a complete set.
I should read some of her reviews instead of that Anthony Lane.
Is the scanned complete New Yorker worth it, for bookreaders? I have been thinking for months about getting it.
Yours.
Hi Jaq!
Yeah, Christopher Moore is awesome. Haven't read the new one yet. Started 'Fluke' but got sidetracked. So many books... so little time.
An easel to display "Little Nemo" on is a great idea! I don't have one, but...hmm, something to think about for the future.

Lucky lucky you, going to Powell's. I've never been; I would love to go even if my spending limit was $1.00. The no spending limit part is just a pipe dream, really... ::grin::
Hi! I see you also own a copy of "Little Nemo In Slumberland: So Many Splendid Sundays." Isn't it an amazing book? What I'm wondering, now that this gigantic but lovely thing is in my home...where on earth to *keep* it? I was wondering, where do you keep yours? There's no bookshelf I own that it would actually fit in. :-)
Glad you liked my tarsier! He does have "one of those faces", doesn't he? But then, people always swear they "know me from somewhere", so I can relate.
The teapot is lovely!

It's interesting to see how many of these libraries intersect as "similar". We have at least a couple in common.
PS Lovely elephant - I would post a more personal picture than Byron, but my elusive grasp of modern telecommunications doesn't yet extend to photographs. Sometimes I can only just manage words.
