RE.Someone Like Me: Tales from a Borrowed Childhood by Miles Kington.
Found your review when entering my recently acquired copy. The fiction giveaway is on the back of the title page -- "All characters in ths publication...."
Have you read anything by J.L.Carr? His foreword to "Harpole & Foxberrow General Publishers" has ensured that I always check that particular page.
Enjoyed the spy story while waiting for bus home.
Regards
Philip

I have uploaded a cover for Upton and the Army by Stephen E. Ambrose. This is from the 1964 Louisiana State University Press hardcover edition.

I notice most people do not make their usernames reflect their real names, what do you advise?

I know of your Webb Watch column having read it for many years, sometimes the only thing I ever read in InCite actually.
You asked me about my poetry? (I think ... The comments feature on LibraryThing is clunky to me as a newbie)
The poems are slow to emerge and written in corners of time; someone said they are surrealist (Isolated States) ; the first collection was about my homeland (South Africa) and having to emigrate to a strange place I knew nothing about (Mt Moono in my imagination ... in reality, I discovered, a very different place, Tasmania). I got an Australia Council a year or so ago to write my third collection of poetry, which I am still working on. So... that's it. I write under my maiden name as my husband is also a writer; and so in the library world my name is Anne Hugo.
Am also playing around with Twitter as a way of gathering news for my youth-studies related newsletter, youth field xpress, twitter @annehugo. So that is me.
Thanks for asking (as I say, I THINK you asked ... when I looked at the comments page I was not so sure.)
Cheers
Anne

It sure is me - as you can see I don't look at comments very often.
How are things? Have you retired yet?
I don't know yet what to use Library Thing for so I am still playing. I want to keep track of titles I have borrowed as well as things I own so I may try other things.
By the way, I managed to use a text list I had catalogued before to generate the entries. Not as good as MARC but so what!
Cheers
Tony

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have not logged into LT for a while.
I do not have my itinerary set yet. I am traveling on a Rotary International grant to visit libraries in the Canberra area, and I will be staying with Rotary members during my four weeks in Australia. When I know what towns I will be visiting, I will let you know.
All the Australian LTers and Australian librarians have been so helpful! I am looking forward to meeting some of you in person.
