About meMystery/Thrillers are my FAVORITES! I am 44 and am disabled due to a neurological disease called Stiff Person Syndrome. I am unable to walk or stand barely at all, (it is very hard), and need to keep my legs elevated which gives me LOTS of time to READ!!!! I am married and I have two children, a daughter who is 18 and a son who is 13. Due to my disability they live with their father, as it is to much for me to care for them. I physically can't keep up. This disease causes severe muscle spasms that are very painful and I tire out SO easily. It does not take much to bring the spasms on. Sometimes I get mad because I will try to do the simplest of tasks and it will trigger the spasms. This is not a fun disease. I need a few naps to get through my days so my muscles can stay relaxed. My son visits on the weekends-precious time! My husband and I spend our time together reading and watching a few choice TV shows! As a matter of fact, we met at a bookstore! We also have a dog named Carly who is 3 She is a beautiful chow/black lab/Australian Cattle Dog (bred from Dingos)!! She has the black lab face, NOT the punched in chow face. She has gorgeous red hair with a curved tail that she sways back and forth when she walks, and the hair on that tail is 12-14" long! She weighs about 70lbs, but is still a big dog, yet a baby in the same sense! All the time when she was a pup, and through her first year, she would NOT sit on your lap. That is the 'chow' in her. NOW, she WANTS to be a lap dog! "I" can't handle it! It kills me, but she sits with my hubby! She insists he pet her, and if he stops, she takes her arm and pulls his arm over to him. This is SO cute! She will still sit a little arm's length away at times, and expects him to pet her! SO funny! He tells her 'Get closer'! She does! Sometimes when you try to step over her, if you can(!), you might step on some of that tail hair, and you have just pulled out a LOT of hair! She jumps up, especially when it is 'me' trying to get over her! I have fallen to many times, and she knows it! She gets out of MY way!! (I don't mean it!) We love her to pieces! She is just amazing to see. She talks, has conversations, sings, and tells us off once in a while as well. DON'T wear your shoes IN the house, because she thinks you are going to leave right away again! So when you come over, take them OFF! Or, she WILL UNTIE YOUR LACES!!!! She is just beautiful!
Our favorite store is any bookstore! If I am not reading, I am working on my new 'Reading/Book Review blogsite' and my Facebook Reading Group called the Reading Nook. I am always trying to get new members to join both! I "LOVE" to get ARC's!!! My absolute FAVORITE SUBJECT IS: MYSTERY/THRILLERS!!! I can't get enough of Mystery/Thrillers!!! Although, after being here on Library Thing for a while now, I find many genres very interesting. If I find a book that sounds good, I will request it. I can't see keeping to just one genre when there are so many interesting ones out there. I also have a very nice relationship with an author, Ann H. Gabhart, who has written a series on the Shakers, A series of 'life' in Harmony Hill, Kentucky (fictional). She has a new book released called Angel Sister and she has another Shaker book due to be released this summer-2011. I am looking forward to this!!

About my libraryWe have so many books! We LOVE them! Most of our fun money is spent on books! We have a nice library of many different genres of books. We both do generally like Mystery/Thrillers/Suspense - things with really good plot lines that really make you think. Of course, we also have an excellent dictionary and thesaurus.
Books to us are F U N !!!!!
I recently got a Kindle and I LOVE it! E-books are GREAT! It doesn't beat the 'real' thing, but I LOVE e-books! For some reason it seems you can read books so much faster as an e-book? Or is it me? I don't know?
I have a Blog and it is listed below under website which has all my book reviews on ARC's and Early Reviews, some contests and Blog Tours! The other is here at Library Thing! This is a GREAT site! I love it!!!

Hey there!
I'm on Goodreads more, too, but a friend of mine suggested this site, so I joined! (:
I'm currently reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I loved Divergent!
You're welcome!

Hi Laurie!

It's really nice of you to think of posting a review here too, but don't worry--anywhere you choose to post it is fine with me! I know readers use different forums like Goodreads and LibraryThing, and I only just opened up this Library Thing account myself. My goal is just to make sure that if I do have any reader who prefer LibraryThing, they can contact me here too.

I read your profile description--my heart goes out to you with your medical condition. I know how hard it is to be restricted in your activity--someone in my family has been unable to walk or stand for a number of years as well. But I am glad that you have the joy of reading. Your dog sounds very sweet! I'm a big animal lover too and we have two dogs.
Hey Laurie,

The comment you read seems to indicate that the person is unable to read the book because their computer is in the shop:

"Unfortunately, the computer this book is on is in the shop being repaired. It is supposed to be fixed by 3-18-11."
Hi sorry, my internet was dead, I had been online just a couple of times the past months. This means I had a lot of time to read!! Hor are you doing? What are you reading?
Hi - I noticed you are currently reading "No Safe Haven" by Kimberly Woodhouse. Did you receive that under the Early Reviewers for December? I have not received mine yet and just wondered if you could tell me when you got it - thanks much - Becky
Actually, I've never participated in the book giveaways on Library Thing. My graduate program keeps me so busy with reading that when I finally get to a book in my free time, I'm usually very picky about what I read. That being said, I have checked out some indy writers on GR. There is some very nice talent on GR. Imagine there is also some in LT.
Oh yeah, I'm always good for a laugh from time to time. Hmmm, let me think if I remember how to review books. I think you have to start by going to the tab "add books". Once you search and find a book, then you have to give it some stars (which I think you've learned how to do). Then I think there is a review button in the same general area. Sorry I can't explain it any better than that. Can I save your cream story for the Erotonaut story? We'll see how much mileage I can get out of the Bill Bondage thing. Hopefully, Tim Curry and the cast of Rocky Horror will still be alive at that point.
