About meI am an elementary school(4th-5th grade)reading specialist in the Puget Sound area of the state of Washington. I am the proud parent of two wonderful sons, one has his PhD. in physical chemistry and works at a national lab in the state of Washington and and is married. The other is working at Starbucks head office in Seattle and is also married. Most of my non-reading leisure time is spent quilting, knitting, cooking and working on my family genealogy and from August through January I am a rabid Seahawk fan. GO HAWKS!!!

About my libraryMy library interests include: Medieval history, quilting and knitting, cookbooks, and a few mystery and romance.

I have slowly been adding to my collection because I have been shopping at the little used bookstore down the street. That said, I think that I am going to go through all my books, weed out what I can, and sell them in order to get fewer, though newer and nicer books that would otherwise be out of my price range.
The instructions are linked here:

You will definitely end up with more books that me. I have the fewest books of the entire family. :(
Yeah, I saw that, but when I search for it, only one copy comes up. I will deal with it when I get back to LA.
I have an odd book collection, I think. I don't seem to have anyone with an especially similar library to me. Ian and I have 40 some books in common, and he is up at the top. I have a feeling that with the number of quilt books that you have, I will never show up on your list.
I think that you might beat me in numbers... if you are at 400 and have more in the front room and the entire bedroom. I am going to have the fewest books of the entire family.
Any guesses as to what the final number is going to be?
Off to the right of your screen, there are a series of green boxes. One of those is called "Members with your Books." The default view is "weighted," which means that it ranks people with similar libraries based on the ratio of books in common to books owned. For instance, if someone has 50 books in common with you but they have 1000 books, they will have a less similar library than someone with only 25 books in common with you but has only 100 books (1:20 vs. 1:4). You can switch it to raw, where it ranks it based on number of books in common. In that scenario, the person with 50/1000 books would be ranked higher than the one with 25/100.

On that note, you have the 40th most similar library to me. You have surpassed dad at 46th, but Ian is still number One.
We finally have books in common. I knew that we did. Ian comes up as the library most similar to mine.
You should still be able to enter up to 200 books before having to upgrade your account.
Half way through the week and you only have 108 books entered? You will never make it before you have to return the scanner at that rate.
Hooray! I finally have more than three friends on LibraryThing!

I think that a fun project for your students would be to input all of the SLMS library books into LibraryThing. That might be a good way to get kids learning about the title page information and ISBN/LOC numbers.

Have fun entering the rest of your books, I know you have more than 65...
