About meI'm a retired forester. I spent my career working for the Mi. DNR. I still do a little forestry work and enjoy manageing my small (80 acre) tree farm. I enjoy most outdoor activities and especially hunting and fishing. I enjoy traveling and make my home on the road much of each year. one of my daughters is a librarian and introduced me to the Library Thing.

About my libraryMuch of my library is composed of hunting, fishing and outdoor books. Many of these are now classics that i have been collecting for 40+ years. By most standards my library is small but it is special to me.

Hi, Ned - Another Michigander here. I'm a writer myself, retired from US Dept of Defense, but I'll recommend a couple books for a retired forester. Try Ed Abbey's novel, Black Sun. For farming, read The Fate of Family Farming, and/or Eighty Acres by Ron Jager (from McBain, MI). One of our Reed City neighbors here when I was a kid was DNR man Fred Ignatoski. He's retired down by Greenville now. Famous writer Jim Harrison was a kid here back in the forties when his dad, Win, was the local county agent. I highly recommend his novel, Farmer, set around the Paris, MI, area. I'm not sure where Lupton is. What's it near? - Tim
Greetings! Looks like you and I are the only two with the beautiful old book, The Life of Daniel Webster. Thought I'd let you know that I just uploaded a jpg of the cover, in case you're interested in such things. Cheers!
I see we share some fly fishing books in our libraries. Cheers from a trout hound in Toronto Canada.
