About meActually us. Two book addicts, that are in perpetual need for a bit more wall space. Or: Two people addicted to the printed word will never fit in a two bedroom apartment. (we finally moved in July 08). Speed reading would be nice, but speed bookcase building would help even more.
While disruptive, the move did let me estimate the size of our collection (10 cubic meters), and unpacking was an opportunity to do the data entry. This is close to all the conventional books. (I know there is at least one box of "oversize" books still hiding somewhere). Still have some of the sheet music to enter, but that is going to be a lot slower. Don't plan to enter recordings, or any of the periodicals.
The web site is Jeff's Junkyard Wars/Scrapheap Challenge team site.
About my libraryThe book accretions of Susan and Jeff. Susan is the hardcore mystery addict, and has managed to infect Jeff (who likes them set in medieval times). Jeff contributed most of the SF. Sue is the "real" mathematician (makes her living as a statistician), Jeff dabbles, and contributed many of the computer texts. The photography collection started with Jeff, the field guides for all the plants and animals in the world, Susan. Jeff has all the metal working and history of science books, along with the cycling library.
If its in German, its Susan's, Japanese, Jeff. Baking fancy pastry, Susan, the rest of the cookbooks, Jeff.
There are bookcases in every room in the house except the kitchen (don't want to get them dirty), and bathroom. (its bad for the butt to read on the throne).
