About meMy favorite authors are Jose Luis Borges and Jose Saramago. I am a timid soul who finds a trip to the grocery store adventure enough. I don't like strong emotions either. I think that is why I enjoy participating in the world through books. I love getting ideas of things to read from LibraryThing! I like looking through other people's libraries and seeing books I've read. It's like meeting up with an old friend.

About my libraryI don't own most of the books in my catalog, but I have read them. I love my public library and I love getting a stack of books at the start of the month, sorting through to decide the order and then reading them. Most of the books I own, I haven't catalogued because it seems too boring to go through them if I'm not going to reread them. I don't buy many books, except books about art which I enjoy looking through during the winter.

Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to learn a little more about the book before you commit:

I must look up her house sometime. Maybe when I go to visit my friend in Massachusetts one day.

Finishing a wonderful mystery called "The Tenderness of Wolves" as we've read about 13 of the same books you might enjoy that if you like mysteries at all. I like really good ones. Elaine
I was reading your comment meeting friends when you see they've read the same books. We have number of the same books although I don't have as many entered. I'm so busy looking for ideas have not been adding books. Will add you to my interesting libraries if it's OK with you.
