Saw your post on What are You Reading Now. I think all of us would love to recommend hundreds of novels. If your quilting books are novels (or some of them) you might like Gap Creek by Robert Morgan , or The Truest Pleasure by Robert Morgan. I have made a few quilts but I'm not very good. Did you know that there is a Quilter's Group on here somewhere. Have a look.
