Chris Carter Biography
Chris Carter was born in Brasilia, Brazil in 1965. He lived there until he graduated from high school, following which he moved to the USA. At the age of 17 he was accepted to Michigan State University to study psychology and criminal behavior. During this time, he had several odd jobs including flipping burgers, as well as exotic dancing.
After his university graduation, he started working for the Michigan State DA’s criminal psychology team. During his time as a criminal psychologist, he worked several serial-killer cases along with cases involving other types of murderers and serious offenders, all which would help him later on when he would start the Robert Hunter series.
Later on, he moved to Los Angeles to change his career to that of a musician. He spent ten years playing in various bands including playing in London, after which he decided to try his hands at writing books and become a full-time writer.
Before writing his debut novel, The Crucifix Killer, Chris Carter, author of the Sunday Times bestselling novels, has never written any fiction piece as he had never thought about a career in writing, which comes to a surprise to many of his fans – his books are that good. In an interview, he mentioned that he had never even written a short story. The Crucifix Killer was really his first foray into fiction writing. He also said that the story for The Crucifix Killer came to him one night in his dreams. The next day he told his story to his girlfriend who encouraged him to write a story about it.
Each of the Robert Hunter books includes gruesome, graphic scenes that are drawn from the author’s experiences during some of the cases he worked on as a Criminal Behavior Psychologist when he would go to some crime scenes almost taken out of Criminal Minds. The author then would add some imagined and embellished things, and the detective Robert Hunter books are ready to be enjoyed by the lovers of such gory-detailed murder books.
The Chris Carter books have been translated into over 20 languages including German, Polish, Danish, Korean, and Greek, and have been sold in over 30 countries. Several books have been bestsellers both in Germany (where they sold over 1,000,000 copies, and The Caller reached the #3 Spiegel Bestseller Chart) and in Denmark. He is, of course, also a bestselling author in the UK, some reaching the Sunday Times Top 10 bestselling list, with The Caller even becoming the #1 Sunday Times bestseller. In Poland, Gallery of the Dead has been nominated for the Best Book of the Year Award for 2019.
While each Robert Hunter book can be read on its own as an independent story, there are two books as a special case, which should be read as sequels. The first is An Evil Mind, and its direct sequel is Hunting Evil, published in 2019. In this book, Lucien Folter, whom we first met in An Evil Mind, returns after being locked away in solitary confinement for almost four years. This was a long time for a person to stew and cook up ideas for revenge and vengeance against Robert Hunter.
Soon after the publication of An Evil Mind, the evil mastermind Lucien Folter was shortlisted for ‘The Best Villain’ award, so the author decided to continue his story in a sequel.

Praise for Chris Carter
Carter has a background in criminal psychology and the killers at the centre of his novels are all the more terrifying for it. There’s a touch of the Patricia Cornwell about Chris Carter’s plotting. (Mail On Sunday)
This is a chilling, compulsive portrait of a psychopath, and proves that Carter is now in the Jeffery Deaver class (Daily Mail for Hunting Evil)
Carter is one of those authors who makes writing look effortless … I couldn’t put it down (Crime Squad)

The author Chris Carter is known for the Robert Hunter crime thriller series featuring the homicide detective who works particularly gruesome cases involving serial killers and horrific acts of murder. I am a huge fan, unfortunately I have not read them all, I have only read two ; The Caller ( My first love) and The Death Sculptor (an absolute fav). Though as time goes i aspire to read them all too. I have very limited access to them particularly these were the only ones available in my current university’s library, and so after studying( in four years time) I will be able to afford them and buy them all .

I absolutely love your books. You have given me many happy hours of reading.
I have read all of them, including your latest one , “written in blood “.
Due to the Coronavirus and lockdown, I have just read all of them again in order.
I am a bit puzzled, you refer to Anna, Carlos wife being taken but I cannot find any reference to that in the books? Did I misunderstand or have I missed it altogether?
Please keep writing.
