This was my first book in this series (yes, I'm totally aware this is the fourth book in the series) and my second book by Kaylea Cross. I have already read [b:Extinguished|18529694|Extinguished (Titanium Security, #4)|Kaylea Cross|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1381629504s/18529694.jpg|26236502] from Titanium series and enjoyed it but I prefer this one.

Kaylea Cross is definitely good in writing her sex scenes both hot and sensual. I would even say that she writes one of the best sex scenes of many authors I read. They are full of passions and emotions without being sappy. Rhys actually cries during on of them and it doesn't look silly or pathetic at all.

I really enjoyed the characters, they are strong and interesting. I generally like tortured heroes if they are not overdone and the alpha man who are not overbearing. Rhys is for sure a good and appealing one. With Nev they make a lovely couple. She is independent and she knows what she want. I also liked the softer, more emotional part of Rhys.

There are lots of secondary characters. I haven't read any other books in this series, so I wasn't sure who is paired with whom and who is marring who. But I get over it. Ben is a total sweetheart, I will read his story too for sure. And Luke, well, him and Emily, it will definitely be interesting.

I'm rating it for 3.5 star, nearly 4. ( )

Rhys Sinclair had a traumatic brain injury in No Turning Back (Book 4) thanks to trauma surgeon Neveah Adams. Rhys can't get Neveah out of his mind. When he finds out that a threat has been made against her life, he agrees to be her security for a conference.

Rhys is a character women will love and Neveah is a strong woman. Both of these characters suffered physical obstacles and we get to watch them overcome those obstacles. I found that I realized who the threat to Neveah was before it was revealed which made the action toward the end tense as I was waiting for her to catch up to where the danger was coming from.

There is romance, danger, action & misunderstands all common in a Kaylea Cross book. In a series, you understand that each book pulls from the first book and continues the action until the plot is solved in the last book. I read some reviews on Amazon where that frustrated readers but that is part of what a series does and I love that about this author's books. ( )

I love this series. Kaylea Cross has written another excellent romantic suspense, this one slightly different from the last two as it is set in Canada rather than the Middle East. Do not read this book before you've read the others in the series, as you'll enjoy it more if you read the books in order.

Naveah was working for Médecins Sans Frontières in Afghanistan when she was taken hostage along with three other doctors. Two of the doctors were murdered, and Naveah and the other survivor were rescued by a CIA-led team. Rhys - former Delta Force - was on that team, and almost died while rescuing her. Now some months later Rhys travels to Vancouver to protect Naveah while she gives a speech at a medical conference. There is some fear a local terror cell linked to the Middle East is going to target her there.

This book is different to the last two in the series and you should not even think about reading this one until you've at least read Cover Of Darkness and No Turning Back (there's a book that comes before these I am still yet to read). Both books are really worth your time, and you'll get so much more out of this one if you know all the history behind the characters. Relentless is different as it builds and builds, the relationship developing while they assess the threat, with the action happening towards the end.
This one is more focused on the romance, and on how the characters are coping with the horrible things they have gone through.

There were some interesting twists in the story, showing you didn't know who you could trust. I really liked how the final chapters played out, some things taking me completely by surprise. It was definitely a book where I couldn't see how things were going to work out.

Rhys was an interesting hero and Naveah a pretty unconventional heroine. I enjoyed reading about their relationship, and after all the build-up in the last book it was great to finally get their side of the story. Cross certainly knows how to create appealing male characters.

This has been a really enjoyable series for me - and it's not over yet. I love military romance and I especially love when it seems realistic. There are so many great characters and the suspense has me hooked. I can't wait for the next one! ( )
