I admit to buying this book purely because of the little white spaniel. A picture book with only a sentence at most on each page, the painted images are dark, somewhat spooky and gloomy, and unusual for most picture books. It's a story about an atmospheric night for a little dog, with a little twist in the morning. ( )

This spooky book was a great share around Halloween. My students were captivated by the white ghost dog and didn't realize until the very end that he was visiting the earth from the crypt. With this spooky story, my students moved into writing their very own spooky stories. ( )
