I always laughed aloud when this segment came on Saturday Night Live, and this book brought back a lot of those memories! My favorite then, and still now, is the Disneyland one! I'm snickering right now as I type this! Thanks for the laughs Jack!

".. because, hey, free dummy." Lol!!! ( )

I had never heard of Jack Handey or his deep thoughts before picking up this book. His humour can be an acquired taste but he did have me smiling regularly at his thoughts. ( )

Hands down one of the stupidest books I've ever read ( )

This is a collection of the "deep thoughts" segment of "Saturday Night Live", and they are a real hoot. A typical one is "I wish I had a kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Dracula AND Superman away." I don't know a lot of people who would like these, but I love 'em. ( )

First words
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
Quotations
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."
Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?!
He was a cowboy, mister, and he loved the land. He loved it so much he made a woman out of dirt and married her. But when he kissed her, she disintegrated. Later, at the funeral, when the preacher said "Dust to dust," some people laughed, and the cowboy shot them. At his hanging, he told the others, "I'll be waiting for you in heaven—with a gun."
If I ever opened a trampoline store, I don't think I'd call it Trampo-Land, because you might think it was a store for tramps, which is not the impression we are trying to convey with our store. On the other hand, we would not prohibit tramps from browsing, or testing the trampolines, unless a tramp's gyrations seemed to be getting out of control.
Marta says the interesting thing about fly fishing is that it's two lives connected by a thin strand. Come on, Marta. Grow up.
