This little pamphlet, which is more like 15 pages in length, instead of the 25pgs given, caught my attention and so I downloaded it.

The topic is perhaps best explained by the full title: "Aristocratic Oranges: Villas, Homes and Mountain Vistas in Sight of New York Harbor".

The pamphlet is then full of pictures of stores, banks, homes and clubs of yester-year. There isn't much text except on the first page, and there the reader will find some interesting statistics about how many workers were present, and what their take home pay was... along with some other information pertaining to that affluent area.

As far as the quality, I was rather surprised at how poor it is. The text is difficult to read, and the pictures look more like old photos --with the cloudy areas they develop over time -- than an image set in print. (Perhaps the problem was with the copying machine.)

Worth a quick perusal. It will be of more interest, I imagine, to historians of the region and architecture students.
