This was a great book. Hondo is a dog, and Fabian is a cat. They have the same owner. Hondo wakes up one morning and hopes that Fabian will go on an adventure with him. Fabian stays home with the owner, but Hondo decides to go on adventure with a dog friend. At the end of the story, Fabian and Hondo come together and eat their food. It was a cute little story about common enemies coming together. They go on different adventures during the day. The pictures were also interesting and appropriate for the story. ( )

I accidentally read Fabian Escapes first (sorry! I didn't realize it was an established series!). So when I saw this, I sat down at the library and read it immediately. I love the back and forth between the cat and the dog, with their own favorites and adventures, though they end up back together again all happy by the end of course.

I think the art style is soft and gorgeous. I would happily read more of their adventures! ( )

This is a story about a dog named Hondo and a cat named Fabian. The book follows a day in the life of these two household pets. Hondo goes to the beach and plays with another dog, while Fabian stays home and plays with the baby. At the end of the day, the two friends are reunited in the house once again.
I thought this was a very cute book. The language was not too complex, making it an easy book for children who are just starting to read. Many children have pets, so this book is easily relatable for students. The pictures were gorgeous and contributed to the book very well. I am very impressed that Peter McCarty both wrote and illustrated this book. ( )
