Fiction. Literature. HTML:

The tree is decorated, the cookies are baked, and the packages are wrapped, but the biggest celebration this Christmas is Gaby Summerhill's wedding. Since her husband died three years ago Gaby's four children have drifted apart, each consumed by the turbulence of their own lives. They haven't celebrated Christmas together since their father's death, but when Gaby announces that she's getting married and that the groom will remain a secret until the wedding day, she may finally be able to bring them home for the holidays. But the wedding isn't Gaby's only surprise. She has one more gift for her children, and it could change their lives forever.

With deeply affecting characters and the emotional twists of a James Patterson thriller, The Christmas Wedding is a fresh look at family and the magic of the holiday season.

The only thing good about this book was its easy style, easy reading. Gaby has decided to marry one of 3 guys who ask her the same week. Really? A lot of the book was about one of Gaby' daughter and her abusive, drunk husband which affects her son's behavior. She finally has enough but goes to Mom's wedding without telling anyone about it. Gaby's son decides without telling Mom that he wants to get married at same time as her - why after Mom's big build up about mystery of which suitor. Gaby is so self-centered. Why no one comes to be with her for the 3 years after her husband dies. Then who she picks to marry - why? ( )

This book is sort of like a Hallmark movie, but it wasn't too bad. As popular as James Patterson is, this is actually the first book of his that I've read. I don't know if I'll read any more unless I see a plot that looks really good. ( )
