Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Tattoos fade with time. Emotions never lose their edge.

Luke Emerson is the last person Sebastian Wakefield expects to see strolling into his tattoo shop. But Luke's not back after four years to take up where they left off. Not even to apologize for the cheating that broke them up.

Luke wants a custom tattoo, a memorial for someone known only as "A.J.". Much as Seb would love to tell Luke to take this ink and shove it, he's a professional. Plus, he's reluctant to admit, he wouldn't mind getting his hands on Luke again. Even if it's just business.

Once Luke's in the tattoo chair, though, Seb finds himself struggling with all the anger and resentment he thought he'd left behindâ??and those aren't the only feelings reignited. Their relationship may have been turbulent, but it was also passionate. Four years clearly hasn't been long enough for the embers of that fire to go cold.

A few subtle hints from Luke is all it takes to make Seb consider indulging in some of that physical passion. It shouldn't be that tough to keep his emotions from getting tangled up in sweaty sheets.

After all, it's not like he's in love with Luke anymore. Right?

Warning: Contains two exes who shouldn't want each other like this, steamy ex-sex they shouldn't be having, and a whole lot of ink.… (more)

Luke didn’t just cheat on Sebastian once; he was a "serial" cheater that showed no remorse what-so -ever for doing so. Partly it was because he was scared of commitment, and partly was, he was just a cheating creep. But the final result was that Sebastian was completely devastated. When he walked into Sebastian’s tattoo shop for a tattoo, he figured the worse that could happen would be that he’d be tossed out. To his surprise Seb was nothing but a professional. As time went on, they of course started seeing one another again and trying to mend fences. Yet, Seb never trusted Luke. Above all else, he couldn’t deny the chemistry. it wasn’t until Luke finally tells him the story behind the tattoo that Seb finally can forgive him. Luke seemed to finally be sorry for his part and was ready to move on. Seb found that forgiveness is miles different than trust and wasn't sure if he could trust Luke again, at least enough to be in a relationship. It would take time and perhaps a little magic to make it work. Luke was the reason for my original love/hate relationship with this story, but everyone deserves a second chance...don't they? After all we all make mistakes, and no one is perfect. It was the fact he just didn’t seem to care how bad he had hurt Seb. I’m all for second chances if the person is trying to change and make things right. It took a friend telling him how thigs were and how much he had hurt Seb to finally cause him to change. The story of who A.J. was and what she was to Luke as well as the reason why Luke wanted THAT particular tattoo was the best part. The angst and the push and pull of the characters is also what made this such a good read. ( )

A Hearts On Fire Review

THREE & A HALF STARS--A.J.'s Angel" is an angsty, little emotional nugget of ex-lovers reconciling through actions and words.

Sebastian is a tattoo artist, currently single and has never really got over the love of his life, Luke. Luke cheated on him numerous times during their past relationship and Sebastian always was sweet talked into taking Luke back. Until the last time, where Luke walked out into the arms of another man.

Fours years have passed and who miraculously walks through Sebastian's tattoo shop, none other than Luke. Luke, with no explanations of the past, he just wants to get a memorial tattoo for a mysterious 'A.J.' and wants Sebastian to do it.

Can you smell the drama?

Surprisingly, there were no punches thrown. But instead the author gives us Sebastian's flashbacks and POV (story's in 1st POV) to let us know what Sebastian felt and understand where he was in his head at that point. These two had a lot of sex but they managed to fit some talking in there, so it is not just a smut story. (though may I say the sex scenes were HOT)

I did not hate Luke nor did I think Sebastian was TSTL. The author thoroughly explained their reasoning. And more importantly who the hell 'A.J.' was. Trust me, it's not who you might think it is. My favorite part was when Luke explained to Sebastian why he cheated in the past, it was so straightforward and had a sense of realism to it. I've read a few other M/M Romances with this same theme (cheaters rekindling romance with their one true love), can I say this story is definitely one of the better ones.

After reading "A.J.'s Angel", the question is: can a leopard change its spots? No. But Luke...did. He cheated in the past, matured some to restart a brighter future with his man.

I did appreciate the sense of reality the author gave these two on rebuilding their broken relationship. The author gave them time and not smooth sailing into Happily Ever After-ville. So I believed the couple of Luke and Sebastian and enjoyed their ride." ( )

2.5 stars Seb never got over his cheating ex. So when his ex shows up for a tattoo, hostility and sparks run amuck. I had difficult time with this story. I really wanted to love it, but I found it unbelievable how quickly they found themselves in bed. It's hard to sympathize with a cheater. His apology/reasoning seemed flat. I can't fully recommend this one by Witt. I like her other stories better. ( )
