Deep in the woods outside of a magical kingdom, a strange group of faeries and forest creatures discover a nearly dead angel, bleeding and unconscious with a sword by his side. They call a tribunal to decide his fate, each telling stories that delve into different interpretations of these winged, celestial beings: tales of dangerous angels, all-powerful angels, guardian angels and death angels, that range from the mystical to the mysterious to the macabre.… (more)

Loved the artwork. Was underwhelmed by most of the stories within the story (the angel of death one was the exception). Hated the ending. ( )

Guay's intricate and beautful illustrations blend seamlessly with the stories told by Holly Black, Bill Willingham, and other well-known fantasy authors to create an intriguing story about an angel who falls from the sky and is discovered unconscious by a group of woodland faeries. Told in the style of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales each faerie tells who they think the fallen angel is so that they can decide what to do with him. Each tale told is utterly unique and has a different flavour, which is a result of the various athors who pen each tale as well as a result of the varying characteristics of each tale's teller. Overall, this slim volume is packed full of wonderful stories that culminate in a twist that none will see coming. ( )

Por un lado, el arte del cómic me ha parecido precioso, y algunas páginas son dignas de admirar, por lo que le pondría entre 4 y 4'5 estrellas. Por otro lado, las historias son más bien flojitas.
Así que se queda en un término medio. ( )

A pretty book whose stories don't quite add up to the art. Not bad just not very innovative or "myth busting". ( )

Book description
A mysterious angel plummets to Earth and lands deep in a dark forest where his dying body is found by the mystical denizens of this strange place. As the gathered fauns, faeries, hags, and hobgoblins debate what to do with him, each tells a different story of who they imagine him to be -- a hero, a lover, a protector or a killer. Once all the stories have been told, a final verdict is rendered and the outcome will leave you breathless. [from the cover]
