( ) This Mexican-American bilingual book is a useful book to teach children the basic/ simple vocabulary in English and Spanish. The pictures really help the language as well because the students could use context clues to what the Spanish words could mean. This proverb book was different then the African American proverb book, it is obvious that they would have different proverbs but I feel like the African American had more expressive language, more emotional. This is a fun book with very interesting artwork. It's a nice book for reading to young children, especially if they are to speak both English and Spanish. Several of the proverbs are specific to the Hispanic culture which provides a nice way for readers of all origins to enjoy exposure to these unique perspectives of the culture. While very light in terms of written content, the illustrations really add to the book and entertain the eyes. no reviews | add a review
