Camellia Norton's father died when she was six and since then her mother has squandered their remaining money on drinking, men and partying. Now fifteen, Camellia is orphaned when her mother's body is fished from a river in rural Sussex. Discovering letters that look like her mother was trying to blackmail some men she claimed were Camellia's real father, Camellia runs off to London to start a new life. There she is drawn into the swinging sixties and the new way of thinking, drugs and free love. Hitting rock bottom is the only way Camellia will turn to the letters again and the search for her real birth father. ( )
