I always enjoy the Calvin Coconut titles but this one is especially notable for the warm guy-to-guy relationship between Calvin and his mother's boyfriend Ledward. Calvin doesn't realize it of course, but Ledward is quietly looking out for him, serving as a positive male role model in the absence of one. Kids reading this one will wish for their own Ledward...or be reminded of the Ledwards in their own lives. ( )
