You know how some authors run out of material, and stretch three chapters worth of story into a whole book? This is it. ( )

Cringe and lame, but I’m not going to overdose on the hater juice, as much as I want to. Probably going to read the third one tonight and hopefully it is marginally better than this. ( )

When I started this book, I expected to be completely unimpressed - it is, after all, from That Era of YA Where Love Triangles and Cheesy Storylines Prevail. And you know what? It's not a masterpiece, it really isn't. But it also just still manages to be interesting enough that I want to know the rest of the story.

Rossi makes bold choices in Through the Ever Night with character and love story treatment that you just don't see in other YA dystopian trilogies from this era. It keeps the book interesting even when some of the plot complications are solved too easily. You just can't trust the book to be entirely predictable, and I respect that.

Through the Ever Night may not be a re-read book for me, but Rossi has me just hooked enough to want to see this story through to it's conclusion. ( )

This book was soooo good and my heart is still racing from the last few chapters. It was just so fast and yet the chararters were still so real. Seriously, apart from the first 50 pages or so the whole book felt like the climax, my heart was racing throughout. When the actual climax came I literally became out of breath because of how fast and scary and exciting it was!
I really, really, really don't want to wait a whole year for the sequel though but I'll just have to cope. :'( ( )
