Fiction. Science Fiction. Thriller. HTML:

Here is the explosive conclusion of the blockbuster trilogy that chronicles the never-before-told story of the young Han Solo. Set before the Star Wars(r) movie adventures, these books chronicle the coming-of-age of the galaxy's most famous con man, smuggler, and thief.

The Millennium Falcon is "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy." So when Han Solo wins it in a game of sabacc, he and Chewbacca become kings of the smugglers--uncatchable, unstoppable. But with the Empire clamping down, Han knows his luck can't last. Still, when an old girlfriend who is now the leader of an insurgent Rebel group offers him a shot at an incredible fortune, Han can't resist. The plan seems a sure thing. The resistance will be light and the take enormous. Han and his friends will divide it equally with the Rebels. Too bad for Han that the planet of Ylesia is far from a pushover, that the Rebels have an agenda of their own, and that smuggler friends can often turn into enemies...quicker than lightspeed.

Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

A superb conclusion to an amazing trilogy.

This story outlines Solo’s background well, while also positioning him for his role in the original trilogy. Reluctantly heroic, Solo is repeatedly punished for doing the right thing, building up that veneer of cynicism we encounter in A New Hope. It can be hard to read at times for all the right reasons.

Additionally, the story sets up Lando, Jabba, Chewie, and Boba Fett. While also introducing some well-written original characters.

I warmly recommend the trilogy to any Star Wars fan. ( )

Just OK. I got bored towards the end and was glad to finish. I skipped a lot of the Hutt stuff cos it was boring. Bit disappointing. ( )

And it turns out just as you expected, except you now understand all the little things about Han from the original movies that were never very clear. ( )

The tale begins with Han Solo acquiring the Millenium Falcon, the very ship that had been on the top of Han’s list since he first laid eyes on it. With the Millenium Falcon, he and Chewy are able to complete smuggling runs for the Hutt in record timing. Everything was looking up for Han Solo, until an old friend was reintroduced along with an offer too good to turn down. A. C. Crispin’s book three of the exciting Han Solo Trilogy, Rebel Dawn. As it ends, it also explains the events that led Han to the Mos Eisley Cantina. ( )

The final installment of the Han Solo trilogy does not disappoint. Lots of action, a few tears, Han and Bria finally get back together - but man has that girl changed.
Want to know why Han only looks out for himself?
Want to know why Han's not too keen to risk his neck, or his ship, for the rebellion?
Want to know why it's so hard for Han to tell Leia he loves her?
Read this series. I LOVED that the book took you right up to Han and Chewie's meeting with Luke and Obi Wan. Great read!
The author does try too hard in some places and ends up over-telling the moment - but despite that it's still a great series. ( )
