Out of the Poe works I've read so far, this one probably best alludes to how he things. Loneliness and sombre atmospheres are comforting. Terror is a rush. So this lake he paints as deadly and dark is like those paintings and photos of monochrome solitude in nature: it's normal, untainted by the broader spectrum of human emotional influence and associations. It doesn't take elements and assign them as good or bad. Raw. It is what it is and appreciate it. ( ) no reviews | add a review
