Good Church History for children. ( )

Wow - what an EXCELLENT book. Chronicles is a great title - short stories profiling many of the early Christians. Also provides explanations of terms and traditions which is interesting. Can't believe that I waited two years to read this to my homeschool Jr & Sr High kids for our Ancient History studies. Treat yourself to this page-turner. It is historical fiction, based on many original sources. ( )

This excellent church history book for ages 9-14 is a gem! It discusses the most important church fathers, including the Great Cappadocians, Polycarp, Cyprian, and quite a few others, from Paul to Benedict. It's very readable, but I wish the authors would note that the dialogue is mostly invented and some suggested resources if kids want to keep reading about the early church. There is a bibliography at the back, though.
I recommend this book highly to everyone who is interested in how the church developed in its first 500 years. ( )
