Some people just seem to attract bad luck. Both Jamie and Angelico definitely qualify in that department, if for different reasons and with somewhat different results. Interestingly, once they meet, their bad luck streaks seem to cancel each other out – after some ‘getting to know each other’ time and only once the trust between them builds enough to let them admit they are a couple.

Jamie and Angelico definitely qualify as an interesting couple. Neither have had an easy time growing up, losing parents and family at an early age. Both have had bad experiences with boyfriends and Jamie has attracted the ire of a homophobic bigot who is trying to kill him. The main difference is I how they deal with these issues. Angelico throws himself into his work and has sworn off permanent relationships. Jamie never gives up trying to find his soul mate. Luckily, it doesn’t take them long to figure out that they belong together.

If you like stories about hurt characters who find their life partner who helps them overcome their past, and if a hot firefighter with the looks of an angel is what you’d like to read about, you might enjoy this story.
