a large book about the different animals

I liked this book because I thought it did exactly what it was supposed to do. One the first 2 pages there are images of baby animals. On the first page it asked the question, "When you stroke my fur I purr, of course. Who am I?" There are images of different baby animals on the page and the child is supposed to pick which animal matches the answer to the question. This is great for parents teaching their children about animals because they can read the questions and have their kids point to the pictures. The language follows a patterned technique as it asks, 2 questions on each page and has different animals categories for each page (ex. pets, farm animals, zoo animals, etc.). The images are big and colorful making them very easy for children to tell what animal they are. The book not only helps kids learn the names of animals and what they look like, but what the animals do. For example, one of the questions ask, "I say cock-a-doodle-do! Who am I?" This teaches children what a rooster says. There wasn't much that this book could do wrong as it fulfills it's job of teaching about animal names, what the animals look like, and basic animal characteristics. ( )

Brightly illustrated book about different kinds of animals so that not only can the child see the pictures but also they can see the names of the animals as they are labeled with each animal. ( )
