It's been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both fourteen. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there's a complication to their instant feelings for one another--Will, Tru's boyfriend of two years. Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse--travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?… (more)

The lady narrator is a cheater, so don't read if that stuff bothers you. She's also kind of wimpy and constantly contradicts herself by word and deed. The dudely love interest stands directly on the line between kind-of-romantically possessive and dude-is-a-stalker-run-for-your-life. I wasn't convinced by the ending because few of the issues between the 2 were resolved.

Despite all that, the story itself was escapist fun. It is definitely in need of some judicious editing, both for grammar and length. The grammar carnage was almost unbearable and the first 2 or 3 chapters were seriously info-dumpy.

'I'll never be good enough for you, I know that. But I'm no good without you, and if that makes me a selfish bastard for wanting you as badly as I do then so be it because I can't live a life that doesn't have you in it'.

I really enjoyed this book, but I only gave it three stars because I was getting frustrated with the amount of spelling mistakes.

Trudy Bennett thinks she's forgotten about Jake Wethers, she's settled down with Will, and everything is perfect. Until she's reunited with Jake, and her feelings for him move into the foreground of her heart again.

The plot moved quick enough for me, none of if ever dragged, but at the start of the book I didn't know if I could get into it or not, because of Trudy's long monologues.

However, once I got past that, I really enjoyed the story, and connected to Trudy's character, as well as Will, since I started to feel bad for the poor man.

Good read

This book had things I liked and things I didn't. I found Tru a little too dramatic and her short temper had her saying things that made me irritated. A couple times she was pretty cold toward Jake and I didn't feel like he deserved that. And the way she treated Will was shitty. I did like that she was independent and could hold her own with the band.
The romance was nice to read, but I wish there was more sexy scenes. A lot of them cut off before anything really happened and that was a bummer.
The story had a couple slow parts for me and I feel like overall could have been shorter. I really liked Stuart and if he gets his own book I will definitely read that. ( )

I give up... These people are just too drama llama for me. I stopped at the Louvre cause I could see where it was going and was bored before I got there. Doesn't help that I don't think there was a paragraph over 3 sentences in the entire section I read. But that about matches the maturity level of the heroine, so... ( )
