Did not finish. It was just too much; I'm learning that graphic novels with that vibe just aren't that appealing to me. And this was book 1 of 10; I decided there was little reason to think I'd finish all 10 and so why both finishing this first one. I see the appeal, I just didn't connect.

Spider Jerusalem, radical journalist in the near future, is still hilarious, crass and as relevant as ever 10-ish years later. I'm happy that DC/Vertigo is repackaging, and re-releasing these because in our world of Twitter and blogging and social networking, these stories ring true more than ever. Re-read for my Graphic Novels class. ( )

Foundational to the point of obviousness

Not a bad intro, though you can definitely see where the parodies and satires arise (e.g. Lubchansky's recent work). But that fact that half of these observations seem clichéd and obvious is more a reflection on our current moment than in Ellis's writing. ( )

This was presented to me with high praise but honestly I don't find myself that into it. Feels sort of crass without much reason, and not particularly satisfying to get through. ( )
