I have always enjoyed novels of suspense and intrigue along with a few surprises thrown in for readers to discover. Recently, I began a new series by various authors in a series called Texas K-9 Unit. Here is a tale that has elements of mystery, faith, hope, action and danger. Eva is a single mother with a young boy to raise who meets a local police officer and his dog when one horrible night her son is removed from their home.
Austin is the officer who, like Eva, has fears about developing a relationship due to hurts in the past. However, Eva’s heart is starting to soften as she sees that her son needs a good male figure in his life and maybe her heart’s desires are also found in Austin. The series continues with two other novels, Detection Mission written by Margret Daley and Guard Duty by Sharon Dunn.
Reading novels that are entertaining with suspense, mystery and faith are a great way to spend time regardless of the weather! Reading too is a fun activity to share with friends and family, perhaps even swapping books. In any case, Love Inspired Suspense novels are inexpensive, making them available for readers of all ages to acquire. Plus, it is a great way to engage the heart and mind without concern for the content. I plan on reading the other two novels in the series as a couple of the characters introduced in this story are brought forth with a tale of their own to share.
My rating is 5 stars.

When I heard about this new K9 series, I was very excited. This book didn't let me down. Tracking Justice is the first in the Texas K-9 Unit series, and in this book we follow Detective Austin Black and his bloodhound dog Justice. From the first few pages, this book drew me in. Eva is a single mom with a little boy named Brady who is kidnapped. The action doesn't stop once Brady is rescued and we move from one crisis to the next in the search for Brady's kidnappers and the larger crime ring behind it all. The author did a great job of weaving together Eva's personal story--her parents were murdered--into the current plot. The love story between Eva and Austin felt believable. And I absolutely loved the connection between Brady and Justice. I will definitely keep reading this series. Recommend for suspense and animal lovers. The faith element was spot on. Here's one of my favorite quotes: "That's a lot of fear for someone who says she has faith." He raked a hand through his hair, took a sip of coffee. "I do have faith. In God. Not in myself." McCoy, Shirlee (2013-01-01). Tracking Justice (Texas K-9 Unit) (p. 195). Love Inspired. Kindle Edition. ( )

Tracking Justice by Shirlee McCoy
4 STARS
Tracking Justice is a Texas K-9 Unit continuity series book.
It has a lot of drama, cute kid, cute dog and some romance thrown together, and it leaves some unanswered questions for the next book in the series so I hope it is coming soon.
Eva Billows is a single mom who is independant. She works and goes to school while being a good mother. She thought she heard her son so got up to check him and he was gone.
Brady age 7 is missing at 2 am. He did not argue with his mother and runaway.
Police detective Austin Black in the K-9 unit answered the call. He was curious about thier being two calls to this street hours apart.
Eva answers the questions but she wants him to take his dog and start searching right now.
When he loses the tracks in the woods near by and they start a search command Eva says she is going with him to find her son. She will not be talked out of it. She had a cell phone so if someone else found him or more questions they can get in touch with her.
Eva was brought up to trust no one. The police were not much help in solving her parents murder over a year ago either.
I like Eva and Austin both our untrusting in relationships and don't want to be attracted to each other.
This is a fast read, keeps your attention in the story. Also keeps you wanting more.
Its a clean read. I want to read more of Shirlee McCoy's books in the future.
I was given this book to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

Much thanks to extraordianary editor, Emily Rodmell. Without your guidance and expertise (and patience), this book would not be what it is.
And to the K-9 Justice continuity authors---Sharon Dunn, Lenora Worth, Terri Reed, Valerie Hansen and Margaret Daley---I loved working with every one of you! Thank you for your kindness and encouragement after my accident. It meant the world to me.
First words
Police detective Austin Black glanced at the illuminated numbers on the dashboard as he raced up Oak Drive.
