Although the dialog and interactions were sometimes overly simple, this was a surprisingly good read. So good that I'm onto the next one. ( )

Interesting premise. It started out with lots of telling and little showing, but it got better as it progressed.
It's not great, but at the same time I want to see where it is going. ( )

A free ebook about "actors" going into virtual reality while their audience watches/experiences it - a story I love? What could go wrong!

A little bit could, actually. It doesn't have that "bad" quality I associate with free ebooks, but it's no masterwork either.

If I could have gotten a little less infodump and a little more than zero character flaws or development, maybe it wouldn't have seemed so off.

And I'm only just realizing - now that I'm writing a review - that there wasn't much fantasy/sci-fi other than the premise itself, but it kept me reading anyway. Odd, that.

If you want the same story from the fantasy shelf, [b:Heroes Die|311864|Heroes Die (The Acts of Caine, #1)|Matthew Woodring Stover|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388587897s/311864.jpg|302782] is really good up until the climax/ending that I didn't understand ( )
