When a young man visits a psychiatrist, it becomes difficult to tell what is the truth and what is a lie. The play is a breezy look at lying, but the impact is diminished by poor characterizations (stereotypical psychiatrist that doesn't speak like any known psychiatrist), half told stories, and a poorly delineated plot. It starts out reasonably well, but loses steam quickly. The author clearly wants to work up a sense of something sinister and mysterious, but he misses the boat by simply not writing anything but the beginnings of casual hints. He seems to want it to be both interesting and important; it is neither. ( )
