Salgado is perhaps THE master social documentary photographer, as well as a brilliant activist. Of his photography collections, this has become my favorite. ( )

A photographic project of remarkable scale and significance.

PS : If you happen to live anywhere near an actual exhibition of "Genesis", you should check that out (I personally haven't). If that is not the case, this book is a very good alternative way of experiencing the work. ( )
