I am so happy that I got around to this read. This book was such a fun read but it also tackled harder issues like class differences and money issues. I though the romance as was adorable and found it to be quite a page turner. I really loved the main character in this book and she was so fun to read from her POV. I also thought the doll shop was such a fun setting. I really liked the subtle twists and turns that happened in this book and it was such a engaging read. I really liked zander as bf and loved the 'concept" of this novel. I thought the side characters could have been developed a bit more but it was a fun read and I am happy to finally read it! ( )

Going into the book, I didn't know much about it. Caymen and Xavier first meet in a doll store, (dolls creep me out) so this wasn't the best start to me, the writing was more middle grade than I had expected. Once I got into the book though, I really loved Caymen and Xavier together, they are just too cute.
Caymen is very sarcastic, so am I, so she was great.
The ending was a bit of a surprise to me, which I liked.
This is a great book if you are looking for a cute and short read. ( )

Though I didn't enjoy this book as much as the last book, this still had a very compelling story with very sweet characters.

I didn't enjoy the side characters in this book as much. Xander should have had a lot of friends based on his personality, but those we were introduced to didn't seem like people he'd be around. Caymen's friends just felt immature, especially considering her life.

The college dynamic was interesting, but also didn't feel realistic to me. The process she was or was not going through would have been mirrored in other people, but she felt very isolated in its regards. Other adults in her life would have been putting much more pressure on her too, with counsellors etcetera asking about letters and essay drafts.

Despite this, the main plot was really heartfelt and touching. The ending wasn't entirely predictable, with a minor plot twist coming before the end.

I recommend this book as a young adult romance. ( )

Well I actually enjoyed this snark filled YA romance.

Although it had all the standard tropes for some reason it didn't feel formulaic or laboured. It was witty and the main characters were quite endearing and the development of their relationship was wonderfully entertaining. I liked the issues that Kasie addressed about family commitments and how they can conflict with teens following their own path. Probably my favourite Kasie West YA romance to date. ( )

My eyes burn a hold in the page. I should know this. I can usually dissect a science equation easily, but the answer isn't coming to me. The bell on the door dings. I quickly tuck my homework beneath the counter and look up. A guy on a cell phone walks in.
