An Honor book, not a Medal winner. ?áNeat. ?áI love the art, the fact that she has the color full-page pieces the sketches for us to enjoy. ?áI also love that the reader is left to imagine the rest of Ehleezah's story. ?áOh, and the note on pronunciation is better than many because it shows us which syllable to emphasize.?á ?áIt's a fairly long book, and it glorifies thieves, so it's not for the youngest kids. The story of the Contest has been passed down through generations of the Armenians. This story takes place in the past and the place is Erzingah. There is a palace and Ishkhan, but I it is possible that this could take place in another location if the names were changed. There is nothing specific to this one location that makes it critical for it to happen there. ( )
