As a teenager I loved the Vampirella series for many reasons. Tried reading about ten years ago and it wasn’t the same. Now that thirty years have passed and this new graphic novel that Is the compilation of a six issue series involving angels and demons and Vampirella’s mission to help the angels.

Overall, the story was okay (been done before), but the artwork was great. There is a lot of blood and gore. The story was dark and sometimes hard to follow. I think at this age, I am over Vampirella. ( )

I was a Vampirella fan back in the old black and white days and then, like most completely lost track of her. Recently I've started to rediscover her through the various series from Dynamite comics and color me impressed. In this case you get a collection of a six-issue comic series in which Vampirella gets brought into a war in heaven between various factions of angels and despite being on of darkness, she's involved more than she'd ever like to be. The story is entertaining and pretty well stands on its own so readers do not need to be familiar with the more recent story lines. ( )
