“Hot Box” is a baseball drill that can be played with three or more players and two to four bases. The players take turns being fielders and runners, ultimately trying to tag the rest of the players out. In The Hot Box, best friends Milena and Lydia are playing the game with Jacour, Yosef, Glenn, and Phil. The only problem: the men do not realize that they are playing. Milena lives a sheltered and dismal existence and has not allowed a man to touch her body in eight years . . . until now. Lydia dreams of getting away from small-town America but, until she can make that happen, she is prepared to do whatever it takes to continue to have her bills paid . . . on time. Good sex always does the trick. Two women. Four men. Two love triangles. Reading has never been this hot because, once again, Zane is taking you outside the box.… (more)

Great book! Kept me entertained the whole time. The ending was a real shocker!

Two women, Lydia and Milena, are playing four men, Glenn, Phil, Jacour, and Yosef, a sexual version of the baseball drill "hot box". They will take turns tagging out each other's bodies and hearts. Lydia Sterling has given up hearts and flowers, and is only interested in as much raw sex as she can get. Although it's a dangerous game, she's stringing along best friends Glenn and Phil to insure she has the extra man and variety she needs on the down-low. Milena Stark's heart was broken when Jacour had sex with other women the night before their wedding. She called off the big event and has given him the cold shoulder for eight years. Now he's back in town, and Milena wants revenge. When she finds the homeless stranger Yosef, she conceives a plan and unexpectedly feels attraction for the first time in eight years. But the men aren't playing Lydia and Milena's games, but instead have plans and secrets of their own. Zane's gritty, sexually explicit style is appealing with fans of urban street lit even more than typical romance fans.

Loved the book, listened to the audio which was very well done. The only thing that kept it from being a 5 Star for me was Lydia. Though she was as real as they come, her reaction to finding out about Glenn and Phil was a little off to me. She was playing them both and when she found out she was being played, she took the childish route about it. Other than that, I loved the stories! ( )
