This is a collection of stories, memoirs, essays, sections of books, and a poem featuring cats at Christmastime. Most of the selections are quite good; individuals will not like all equally. I found the excerpt from Rest in Pieces by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown rather disappointing since it did not stand alone as a story very well. “Holiday Safety” by Christine Church tells the story of a cat who got into trouble eating decorations from the Christmas tree; fortunately, she survived. The rest of Church’s essay discusses dangers of Christmastime to cats. The standalone stories and memoirs were particularly good. I also especially enjoyed the poem, “God Rest Ye Merry, Kitty Cats to be sung to the tune “God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen.” The authors of the pieces in the collection are briefly identified in the appendix.
