This particular story takes place in the same area of the UK, country village, sophisticated country village, and it is about an amateur acting group. Someone gets murdered during the play. The theme of the theatre runs through a lot of Midsomer Murders. I like the theme. This particular one has a lot of very good actors in character roles. The directing is almost perfect, that is every scene forwards the plot. There are no wasted scenes. Needless to say, it is also very entertaining with light social commentary on the times, the theatre, the passions of people, the stupidity, and comments on unpopular lifestyles ( )
