Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this free digital edition for an honest review!

Nairne and Paul are on the road and on their own, having survived the last two years after the worst day of their lives. They have met some kind, and some not so kind people, on their travels but nothing quite feels like home until they come across a new community that is willing to let them in for a short reprieve. But will their past come back to haunt them?

Full of intrigue, murder, prejudices, first loves, and the survival of the fittest, this novel will keep the reader coming back to see what Nairne will do for those she loves.

I can’t wait to see what Rachel Meehan has in store for them in the next installment of the Troubled Times series. ( )

I was given a free copy for a review, and Boy am I Lucky! The second book is just as good as the first, and I can't wait for book 3! ( )

Book two of the Troubled Times series starts off where the first book ended. Nairne and Paul have been on the road for over a year searching for a place to call home. They find themselves embraced by a small community of people making a go in an old convent. During supply runs it becomes clear just how bad things have become with the power grid failing, disease and famine widespread. There are dangers everywhere and survival is becoming difficult. To make things worse, their nemesis, Stevie from book one, who they thought was dead, is catching up. This book was fantastic from start to finish. I read it in one very long sitting as I could not put it down. I will definitely be watching this author. ( )
