( ) This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. A little kids' book about the common housefly. Some of the little asides are amusing, and there are a couple facts, but mostly it's little cartoon drawings about how flies like garbage. Over all, it struck me as the sort of book you'd buy for your roommate's nephew. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Great and fun book for kids to learn about flies! My Girl Scout Brownies loved reading this to work toward their bug badge! no reviews | add a review

Focuses on the common housefly and its fondness for all things revolting. The author takes obvious joy in detailing the housefly's typical meals, which include such savoury delights as garbage-juice soup, dirty diapers, and 'doggie doo'. The Muscidae family (to which the housefly belongs) is depicted with Mom, Dad, a younger sibling, and a slouchy adolescent fly. Includes graphic illustrations and fact-filled text that traces its extensive history as well as its habitats, anatomy, and behaviors. No library descriptions found. |
