Very good book, incredible art, and some really exciting scenes. The cliffhanger is thrilling! I recommend this book, and all the others in this wonderful series, to everyone who loves Sonic the Hedgehog. Can't wait for number 8-Out of the Blue!

5 out of 5 for artwork.
2 out of 5 for plot.

I say plot, there isn't really much of it. There's a hook that in a tighter series would've been an opening sequence – a first issue at most.

Beyond that, each issue is taken up reintroducing an old friend and then having them and Sonic beat up some badniks.

I'm not one of the Sonic hardcore; this was my first time reading Sonic comics since the old UK mag back in the day, and maybe that means I was spoilt, but... there's so little to this.

And the cliffhanger revelation is that the big bad guy is... the one person we obviously thought it might be? Hmmm.

Also, being something of a classicist, I'm still not on board with "Eggman" and will die on this Emerald Hill.

Still, like I say, lovely artwork. ( )
