I liked the first two stories (Howell's and Sands') but the last two I couldn't quite get into, so I ended up putting it down. ( )

Omnibus: 4 stories in one book
4 Stars for Hannah Howell's "The Yearning". Two families, each with their own curse, brought together in love. A castle shrouded in darkness and a woman that wants to bring the castle into the light.. Well written. Plenty of action, mystery and romance.

3 Stars for Lyndsay Sand's "Bitten". A woman rescued; Castle Laird that wants her to go away; Lost human emotions rediscovered. Passion was loosely written without any slight moralistic value. The ending left me hanging. Felt author could have taken a step further.

1 Star for Sara Blayne's "Stranger in the Night". This story is like going to a grand ball and looking over the head of a chit chatting gossiper while looking for the Indiana Jones prince charming. The language is too dry and the story too proper. All I read was chitter chatter chitter chatter until my eyes finally glazed over and I missed the rescue.

1 Star for Kate Huntington's "The Awakening". Typical Dracula story to include the vampire turning into fog to get into a bedroom and keeping a woman alive until she is drained over the years and dies. When I say typical, I mean typical.

Were it not for author Hannah Howell, this book would be a flop. ( )

For short historical romances involving vampires. Nothing new. ( )

Decent collection. Not really my taste – mostly traditional romance with a vampire twist. Sands story Bitten is the best of the bunch. ( )
