About meWell, I'm still under a book buying ban - but it doesn't matter so much now that I'm in library school, and I'm not supposed to have time to read for fun!

Luckily my current course has a requirement to 'immerse myself in children's literature' and I am very comfortable putting my head under the water.

About my libraryWoah! All of my books are now in one place. That place is a pile of cardboard in my sitting room. Cataloguing them all was a better idea in theory than in reality, but let's see how I get on! - OK they're in, now for the - ulp - tagging.

Policy:
- My wishlist grew out of control, so I stopped adding to it, but I am reading my way through it.
- I add books I've borrowed to my collection, mostly so I can review them.
- I do include free ebooks that I have read - again, mostly so I can add reviews, and note which ones to buy in hard copy.

You are correct that James McCann, the Africanist, possesses a middle initial. In his early books he did not use it. I will change my record. Good luck.
Hiya, just saw your review of 'What Katy Did Next'. Thought you might like to know that 'Nine Little Goslings' appears to be available new on www.amazon.co.uk for £8.99

Oh! You know, I completely forgot that there are films! With Billie Piper in, no less. I might actually be able to face it, for Billie Piper. (Or not, because I actually like her.)
I was reading your review on The Shadow in the North--you're definitely not the only one to realize they actually like the characters more than they'd thought. I was enjoying the books, but I wasn't deeply invested in them, I thought. When I was halfway through Shadow, though, I idly read the back of the third book--and then in utter disbelief at what it said, jumped back, found the fire & its results in Shadow, flung the book away from me, and refused to even look at it for years. Somehow I still own it, some eight years later, but I've never finished it.
Hello, glad you got the message. I'm just back from a trip to Porto Santo and Madeira (though this is hardly a coincidence because I spend a lot of time working there). You really must visit some time the land of your family origins - it is very beautiful. Not perhaps quite as spectacular as Vancouver, but it in fact has some similarites in that the high mountains rise right up from the sea. No bears in the forest though - I'll never forget seeing them from a cable car ride many years ago.

Hello Francesca, Your name just appeared on my similar library list. Checking over books it looks as though you have just added those compulsively collectable little books that Penguin put out a few years ago, so maybe there are few actual similarities in our collections - but reading through your comments I must sympathise with book buying bans/e-books/and moving continents. Anyhow Hi from Portugal.
