A man’s car breaks down, so he enters a house for help to find a woman with a gun standing over the body of her husband. She admits to his murder…

Cracking, speedy murder-mystery play, with the usual number of suspects.

Although I guessed immediately who-done-it, it was entertaining to see how Christie brought it all about. ( )

Actually it is a novelization of the play and not that great at that. Very standard plodding Agatha Christie that would likely be better on stage or movie. Short. Man (unexpected guest) stumbles into Welsh house to find dead man with wife with gun admitting she is guilty. Man is smitten with wife so he concocts a story to save her, but it turns out she was protecting her slimy politician boyfriend. (ick!). A few other assorted types - the blackmailing nurse/butler, the mentally retarded brother, the efficient secretary, but on the whole- not a lot going on. ( )

Pretty decent play for a mystery, but I had the ending figured out really early on so that kept it from being really enjoyable. ( )

The master of the house is murdered. The obvious suspect is his wife and she's all too willing to take the blame...who is she protecting?

I have a special fondness for this play. While I was directing it, the man who became my husband was playing the lead...it was during this production that we became very close. (Cue all jokes about sleeping with the director...) ( )

I was in this show and I don't remember a thing about it. Better go read it again.
