Ms. Gibbons includes celebrations from other cultures very early in the book. However, since the title of her book becomes the leading line to introduces each new thanksgiving celebration, when she introduces the Pilgrims (to whom she devotes four pages) before the Native Americans (to whom she assigns two pages – points for using enlightened verbiage), and then marries their meeting into “The First Thanksgiving” (another two pages), her sequencing betrays her bias.
