REVIEW:

I don't know how to start this review but from all of the Red Hot Reads from Harlequin that I have read, I haven't yet found one that really ticked everything that is in my mental check list for a perfect book. Not that I'm saying there is a perfect book out there, but a book that is perfect FOR ME.

Basically the book is about the heroine who was asked a favor from her father to change the public image of the hero. But here's the twist. The heroine and the hero had a relationship six years before and it did not end well. Now seeing each other again after all those long year rekindled something within them that was never lost.

The plot was good though nothing spectacular, the characters were okay, more on the part of the hero.

What I didn't like about this book was how the heroine used sex as a way to keep the hero focused, which in other cases would be fine by me. (Are you guys still shocked? I mean I love SMUT so you shouldn't be!) But here in this book it was not because it was in a working environment. The heroine was hired to change the perception of the public about the hero and she used sex. What I didn't like was that since the RED HOT READS is focused on independent and career-oriented women who finds love, I don't really think that the heroine's decision was wise.

Because by doing that she jeopardized her business and although she wasn't caught, it was still something that I felt a good business woman would never do. I guess this is the part where the love happened and that was why her decision was based more on her emotions, and I can see the point why it would be sweet but I just felt that it's not something a woman part of the RED HOT READS should do.

And another thing which I did not like was, (this is not a really big spoiler in my opinion so if you want to read it you can) [that the heroine left the hero just because of an article posted on a newspaper linking the hero with his co-star.

I MEAN SERIOUSLY?

The heroine has been part of show business from the day she was born because of the job of her father and she should have realized by now that people do things for PUBLICITY.

ALSO?

She left the hero without confronting him whatsoever. I mean you just don't end a relationship with someone you felt you can have a future with without even asking him the truth. I know the hero wasn't able to explain it to the girl and her father did kind of make the guy choose if he would want a relationship or an acting career, but the point is that they both made mistakes and they both should be held liable.

I guess I just got really irritated on the part of the heroine because if she did ask the hero then the hero would be able to say what happened and she could have leaved him with everything without any confusion whatsoever. (hide spoiler)]

And I guess that is the end of my review, to sum it all up, this book may not have been the best pick for me due to the reasons written above, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try this one too.
