It's one thing to attempt to fictionalise the life of one of the most important figures of late 20th Century history, but to do so by pretending to have actually known the person - attempting to persuade the sceptical reader that there was even some degree of *intimacy* between author and subject simply beggars belief. Especially when the author so evidently insists on ignoring the fact that her subject was tragically assassinated on 4th April 1968. I mean.
