A nice one by KA. I'm glad we got plenty of POV from Garrett. I do wish that KA would not mix first person with third person. There was some angst here and I thought Garrett's old issues were dealt adequately. All in all not my favorite of this series but also not my least favorite. ( )

I was almost afraid to start reading because i wanted to get that feeling of reading a good book for the first time, if you know what i mean, so i am not sure if i built it up too much in my head but it wasn't as good as i expected.... sorry!

The epilogue is really good, catching up with all the people of the burg and giving us closure and HEA.

Cher is hard and in other books she almost is un-likeable but as you read and you are in her head you see how hard she has had to work to give everything for her boy and what a good mum she is.

She and Merry are funny so there is humour. Merry has issues as we know from other books so i don't know if it was because he is a bit of mess but i didn't gel the same with this book.

Ryker features quite a bit and he's great, really funny.

There is some ex drama.
As regards Merry's ex I did find it interes6that through the whole series the author had the reader routing for them to get back together but their relationship and the history of it is not what the reader may have assumed.

Worth a read but not my favourite. ( )

5 amazing stars

Not sure how she did it but Merry just stole the top spot from Mike for top BBF of this series. This book have me everything I wanted and more when it came to ending an amazing series. I have liked both Merry and Cher since they both were introduced but had now idea they would steal the show. KA definitely saved the best for last. These two had been through hell. Seeing them with the addition of Ethan and the cast of characters from the previous books (Ryker is the man) made this the perfect love story. Swoon worthy tender moments, wicked sharp bantering, humor, hotter than fire steamy times, and the best epilogue ever made this one of the finest endings I have seen in a series.

I cannot recommend this series enough. ( )

The final book in the series, Cheryl final snags Merry's attention, and when circumstances put Cheryl in danger Merry finally steps up. Lots of interactions from previous characters. Great epilogue of all the couples future.

Its always sad when a series comes to an end but the author always gives us such great epilogues that in the end you feel happy for all the great couples we've met over the course of this series.

The last couple up in the 'Berg series are two people that have been in the background since the first book. Cher (Cheryl in previous books) was the Bohemian brash bartender who unfortunately had dated and been deceived by a serial killer. Afterwards her and son changed their last names to stay out of the limelight. Cher is not a conventional mother but she loved her son deeply and did whatever she needed to do that make sure he had a good life growing up. Through out the years she's watched her friend Garrett Merrick mourn over his marriage while having a crush on him. One night when Merry was drowning his sorrows in a bottle of boos Cher decides to lay it out for him about his ex wife and the two end up getting drunk and having a wild night of sex.

Garrett is a Lieutenant with the local police department. He and his sister both didn't deal well with the tragic murder of their mother years ago. Her death left them both with inner demons that sabotaged any personal relationships. Rocky finally got her issues worked out with Tanner but Merry was still stewing in his until Cher opened his eyes to maybe its wasnt all on him on why his marriage didnt work out and that maybe his friend Cher was the woman who would give him back his soul.

All the previous cast of characters are back in Hold On and along with the romance there are a few suspense plots running through the story. One of the things I've really enjoyed about this series are the characters are in their late 30's to early 40's and some already have kids they are coming into the relationship with along with pasts that need to be worked through. Even though the characters are sometimes over the top and of course fictional they are written to where you feel like these are people you could know in real life and can relate to. ( )
