The second in the author's series set on the Scilly Isles, read in preparation for my forthcoming holiday. The fantasy elements were integral to this novel, rather than hinted at as in the first, so I quite enjoyed it on a different level, as well as for the atmospheric beauty of the islands, which was less of a feature than in the first one. The final ending was a bit of a jolt though, and I will find out very soon how this will be resolved in the final instalment. ( )
