Megan is trying to live a life free from her past and all the fear she carries around with her daily. Now that her face is on the news, she knows it is only a matter of time until the past catches up to her, and just may kill her. However, she does have some protection and the attention of a police officer, Hunter Kingston, along with the help of some of his fellow officers. As time goes by though the line between protection and attraction is getting blurred. Just how many times can Megan continue to guard her heart, and stay alive another day to enjoy the friends she is making?
This is a riveting suspense-filled story readers will enjoy for the action and also for the possibility of a relationship between Hunter and Meagan! ( )

Hidden Identity (Cedar Keys, #2) by Carol J. Post

Welcome back to Cedar Keys! Officer Hunter Kingston knows that Meagan Berry is running or afraid of something but hasn’t figured it out yet. Evidence from the break-in at her house says that she isn’t who she has been claiming to me and might be a murder, but Hunter’s gut tells him she isn’t what the facts are showing. He doesn’t know what to believe but he knows he is going to have to find out fast when there is an attempt on Meagan’s life and then his. This book moves at a steady pace. I thought that I had things figured out twice but was surprised at who the bad guy was. Just when everyone thinks it’s safe to breathe again wham the action starts up again. There were two scenes that I thought were funny and they both took place at the bus station. This is the second book in this series. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to anyone that enjoys good clean suspense.

Authors Purpose for Writing this Book: This is Carol's second trip back to Cedar Key. She introduces the character Hunter Kingston in the first installment, now she develops his character further.

Hidden Identity was my second Inspirational Romance novel. The first was Expert Witness by Rachel Dylan. Carol immediately grab's the readers attention with fast action, excitement, mystery, and suspense. She starts out strong and continues well into chapter ten.

I found myself quickly turning pages, with a heightened curiosity and at times disbelief of what the main character endures. At times, I found myself losing track of time because I was so engrossed in the story. The story starts off strong and compelling. Frankly, she pleasantly surprised, puzzled, and challenged my deductive skills.

Written from Megan Berry's point of view it is a story about her fight for her life. Megan is a likable character, who grows slowly on you. And as the reader, you of course, want her to survive, and find peace and happiness. With all of the challenges she endures, you soon know that the has divine guidance and protection helping her every step of the way.

My favorite quote from the book is "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you."
- 1 Peter 5: 6-7

She introduced the town gently, with a few members of the community most effectively. Where I felt comfortable knowing each one in time and service. She presented an intimate view of the main characters, seeing both positive and not so positive elements of their personality's.

Chapters are broken down into chronological order: One, Two, Three... Arranged topically and chronologically.

Carol J Post has an informal writing style, and an amazing sense of adventure. She knows how to take you through twists, turns, highs, and lows of situations. At one point I found myself flinching, and quick jump as I turned pages. Her casual sense of expression throughout this book gives you a sense of grounding and reality; which makes you feel like you can relate to each main and supportive character.

Characters are well developed the plot and events clear. Which speaks favorably about character development. Including the description of Cedar Key; right down to the street lights, traffic signs, and the Lake.

I enjoyed several chapters in the book. But the scenes that remain the most outstanding were: the arrow, the tender kiss Hunter gave Megan, and the restaurant scene.

I enjoyed this book so much that I have included 4 of her books on my reading list. ( )

My rating is 5+ out of 5 stars!
One of the best parts of these short novels is the variety of stories and authors who share their imagination with us. Another part is when anyone wants a break from something or doesn’t have a whole lot of time to read, these are perfect to pick up and get lost in the suspense! Here is a story that from the first page grabs the reader’s attention, gets the heart rate going and takes the reader to places of adventure.
I don’t want to share too much because it would ruin the fun for others reading it, but I can tell you that the plot is ingenious! Carol Post draws readers in with first telling about a woman who is internally struggling with telling someone her secret, but scared to death to do so. Meagan came to Cedar Key, Florida to hide and now because she is hailed a hero for saving a life, her face is splashed on every TV from coast to coast.
Not only is she watching over her shoulder for the man she suspects is now going to find her and take her life if he can, Meagan’s real identity is about to be revealed. However, that isn’t the only piece of information that is going to be uncovered; there is more, much more. On the way to the last page the suspense builds as well as a possible love interest. With time running out will Meagan live through attempts to kill her? What exactly will the future hold for her and her love interest if any?
Grab a copy and enjoy a couple of hours reprieve from the real world and enter a world of mystery, suspense and romance! You’ll be so glad you did and then tell someone else who might love reading Hidden Identity! ( )

Love Inspired Suspense
5 stars out of 5

As readers of my blog, or followers of Pinterest, or Facebook will know, my favourite genre to read is Suspense or thriller. So when Carol asked if I would be interested in reviewing her Love Inspired novel Hidden Identity I jumped at the chance. I have not read many Love Inspired Suspense before, but I am hooked! They are not as complex as a full length novel, but just as riveting and adrenaline spiking and I did not need to lose sleep over it because I could read it in one day! Carol wove a story so intriguing I could not put it down! It felt like I was in Meagan's shoes as she tried hard to stay out of the limelight. The scenes are believable, the characters are real, the landscapes are explained so vividly i could see them in my mind. The terror Meagan feels is palpable and i grew downright frustrated that others could or would not understand that she had a reason for disliking the cameras and newspeople.

Thank you, Carol Post for the opportunity to read this book. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. A positive critique was not required. The opinions are my own. ( )
